Mobility Impairment
An assigned DRC specialist will work with each individual to determine which accommodations/services the student may need. **Please note that Northeastern University and the DRC does not provide any type of personal care assistance (PCA) services, or transport/transportation services.**
Commonly Used Accommodations
- Assistance in arranging accessible classrooms
- Assistance in arranging meetings in accessible location
- Consulation and recommendation to Housing Office for appropriate accommodation in residence halls
- Campus orientation
- Notetaker for students with manual dexterity difficulties
- Scribes for exams for students with manual dexterity difficulties
- Extra time on exams as needed.
Required Documentation
- Physical/Mobility Disability Disclosure Form completed by the student's treating clinician within the past six months of applying for services. If the mobility impairment is likely to change, documentation must be updated annually from the appropriate licensed professional.
