Rights and Responsibilities
Students attending Northeastern who have documented disabilities are protected from discrimination and assured reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Both students and the university have rights and responsibilities. It is important to understand that these rights and responsibilities are significantly changed from secondary settings: responsibility of the institution is different, and the students have responsibilities as university students that they did not have in high school.
