Single Room Housing or Single Occupancy Double Space
This type of housing is available for students who present valid, current documentation that clearly delineates and justifies the need for a single room as a disability related accommodation. Situations in which a single room may be warranted include, but are not limited to, severe health conditions and mental health disorders that rise to the level of disability.*
Please note that because of numerous sites on campus that provide reduced-distraction study space, single rooms are not considered an accommodation for students with learning disabilities or Attention Deficit Disorders.
*Substantially limiting disabilities are defined as those which significantly impair one or more major life activities. Examples of disabilities accommodated include chronic or degenerative disabilities, psychological disabilities, Deaf and hard of hearing, physical, etc.
