Focus On Faculty

Students with disabilities at the University constitute a population as diverse as the total student body. As intelligent and academically prepared as other students at Northeastern, they clearly have unique needs that may require your knowledge and understanding as well as the support of the Disability Resource Center. Disabilities include: those related to chronic health conditions (for example, migraines, diabetes, HIV positive, sickle cell anemia), neurological conditions (such as seizure disorders and head injuries), specific learning disabilities (for instance, dysgraphia, dyslexia, dyslogia), psychiatric disorders or emotional problems resulting from abuse or biochemical imbalances, students who are Deaf or hard of hearing, other students have vision or mobility impairments, including temporary ones due to sports injuries.

In an effort to help faculty members understand their critical role in reasonably accommodating the needs of students who are disabled, Deaf or hard of hearing in their classrooms this website was designed as a guide. For additional support, please contact the DRC in 20 Dodge Hall, or at 617-373-2675 (V), 617-373-2730 (TTY).
